Antelope Beam

Over millions of years, rains from the distant mountains have created flash floods that have carved these slot canyons en route to what is now Lake Powell.  Located near the town of Page in Northern Arizona, these canyons belong to a local Navajo Indian tribe.  At certain times, on certain days of the year, the sunlight breaks through the top of the canyon forming a beam on the floor of the cave below.

This photograph was taken in October 2000.  It is available on canvas as a Big!Picture format to make a stunning piece of art for a large wall.  Popular Big!Picture sizes are 36"x54" and 48"x60".
